2008-2009 Season Recap

December 11 – Augustana, Central
Knox College lost to Augustana College in a dual match; the match was originally intended to include Central College, who were forced to withdraw from the match.

The lone victories for the Prairie Fire came in the heavier weight classes, with 197 lb Alexander Faulkner defeating Dan Krcmar of Augustana by a score of 7-2, and 285 lb James Wagner defeated Paul Sutkay 5-0.

December 02 – UW-Platteville
The Prairie Fire grapplers were unable to score a single point in their season opener, losing 44-0 to UW-Platteville. Edel Vaca (Thomas Kelly) gave Chris Spaude all that he could handle in the 133 weight class, taking the match to overtime, eventually falling 3-2.

November 14 – Knox Invite Duals
Knox College freshman Charley Deutsch from Stevenson High School (Lincolnshire, IL) won by a 17-11 decision over Bryan Yale at 133. Knox sophomore Edel Vaca from Thomas Kelly High School (Chicago, IL) defeated Rob Thomas who was an NAIA National qualifier last season with an 8-6 decision.
