Five Cowboy Wrestlers Named to NWCA All-Academic Team
After the most successful season of record for the Cowboys Wrestling program, five Cowboys have been named to the National Wrestling Coaches of America All Academic Team. The Cowboys have the second highest amount of RMAC student-athletes receive this dubious honor, the University of Nebraska-Kearney finished with the most in the RMAC with eight student-athletes named to the team.
Jesse Feinsod (Sr.; Colorado Springs, Colo.) was the only Cowboy to receive first team honors. Feinsod finished in sixth place nationally to earn All-American honors for the second year in a row. Jesse Boggs (Jr.; Deming, N.M.) and Luke McPeek (So.; Albuquerque, N.M.) both received second team honors. Boggs was a fourth place finisher in the NCAA West Regional this season. McPeek finished in sixth place at the national tournament this season to receive All-American honors. Jarrod Purvis (R-Fr.; Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Donovan Troup (R-Fr.; Colorado Springs, Colo.) each received honorable mention honors.
