Four Grapplers Earn Honors at Nationals
The Spartan wrestling squad sent twelve grapplers to the 2009 NAIA Wrestling National Championship in Oklahoma City this weekend. They brought home three All-American and one Scholar-Athlete honors.
Earning All-American status for MBU were senior Matt Collum, junior Ike Okenwa and freshman Clarence Neeley. Collum earned the highest place finish, taking third place in the 157 pound weight class. He also earned the Grogarian Award for the most falls in the shortest amount of time. This was the second straight year he earned the award. Neely took seventh at 165 pounds, and Okenwa took fifth at 197 pounds.
Earning Daktronics Scholar-Athlete honors for MBU was Clayton Olsson.
