Monarchs Pick Up Another
Josh Clark Adds to Impressive ODU Haul
Willie Saylor, Editor
Josh Clark has spent the last few years on the cusp of the nation’s elite, just falling a bit short.
He’s hoping Coach Steve Martin and the Old Dominion staff can get him over the hump at the next level.
From Matoaca High School in Virginia, Clark and teammate Blake Roulo form a formidable one-two punch in the middle of the line-up. And Clark has performed well in many national tournaments.
A projected 141/149lber in college, Clark has won three Fargo medals and was a Southeast Regional Cadet Double Champion two years ago.
His most impressive performance came a year ago at the Beast of the East. In a 3rd place showing, Clark beat Taylor Walsh and Hank Stinson, who would both go on to win New Jersey State titles. His only loss there occurred in semi-finals where he dropped a 1-0 decision to Arizona State signee, Cody Combs, of Delaware.
The addition of Clark pushes the Monarchs 2011 haul to a total of six wrestlers, all of whom appear in TheOpenMat’s latest rankings.
