Clinch Gear National High School Team Rankings 12.7.2010

As we get closer to the season getting into full swing, there were a few more teams in action last week.

Apple Valley showed its dominance in the Keith Young Invitational, easily outdistancing #13 Shell Rock and #14 Bettendorf, who will flip-flop this week.

Typically I would hold Bettendorf more accountable after tying for 3rd at that tournament. But Bettendorf was essentially without half their line-up. We’ll give them a mulligan and wait to see what they do at The Clash.

Another change comes at the bottom where former #19 Springstead finished 3rd behind #4 Brandon and unranked Collins Hill (GA), who now moves into the Honorable Mention.

With Springstead’s departure, St. Johns (MI) moves into the #20 slot. They feature several ranked individuals, and other solid kids.

The season kicks off in a big way this weekend with nearly 33% of all teams listed here in the field at the Ironman.
Other high school competitions of note include #16 Roseburg @ the Coast Classic and #18 Clovis at the Clovis West Shootout.

#15 Easton has a tough test at Parkland, which has a very balanced team. Along with Easton, St. Edwards has several key members that have just gotten off the gridiron last weekend after state playoff runs.

How so? That is very poor logic. Apple Valley at this time is a clear number one.
