[...] New TOM Rankings Ballweg is finally on the radar at 141. Let's see how he performs now that expectations are higher! Hopefully he'll rise to the challenge. TOM DI College Wrestling Rankings 12.6.2010 | OpenMat News [...]
This had to be really tough to do after all the results this weekend. Kudos.
Who has Martelloti beaten? Anyone ranked?
Alton seems pretty high considering he has beaten one ranked wrestler.
Weird to see Peppelman so much higher than Meagher when Meagher beat Peppelman and has only one loss — Adam Hall. But I guess you have to penalize Meagher for med defaulting to 6th?
Waters should go up for winning his match against Kent but after watching that match, I would predict Bedelyon to beat Waters just about every time in the future.
All fair points. Martellotti is undefeated with some solid wins. Alton has not lost and for the most part dominated. Peppelman has the loss to Meagher. But also has some major wins over Sponseller and Cheza. Meaghers biggest win was Peppelman. Somewhat agree on on waters, but a win is a win
V where’d all my Rutgers guys go? We started pre-season with 7 of 10, down to 3.
.
Okay, time to nit on your pics.
As a team I think you’re being generous to Rutgers, and Mizzou and by virtue of their loss to Rutgers.
I don’t think Taylor has earned a No.2 despite his record and dominance. C’mon he’s a frosh that needs to earn the rank. Something closer to Altman at 7 would be appropriate.
Bumping QW from 5 to 10 off an injury default when he winning is a tad unfair don’t you think? he hadn’t lost since the Nov. 14th to Hamlin (3-4), you’re new No. 5 (was 8th).
Q was a mistake I am fixing. That was an oversite when I was making changes
……….
A win over Sponseller isn’t that impressive this year. He hasn’t looked good at all. Meagher nearly majored Salazar which is pretty good. I just think the distance between Peppelman and Meagher is too much given Meagher’s 1 close loss to Hall and win over Peppelman.
I also think most, if not all, the guys below Martelloti would be undefeated too if they wrestled Martelloti’s schedule. Most of those guys have some quality wins too.
Kudos on the work.
I see what you are saying but one thing I will tell you, losses do not factor in to rankings the way you are trying factor them in. At least not how we approach it.
I do appreciate the feedback. We knew this week would be one of those weeks where alot of changes would occur. When something like that happens we know there will be some tweaks needed and that people will have a lot of things to say. We like that people are interactive. Thanks!
How is DT ahead of undefeated Adam Hall? Hall just beat Bubba Jenkins en route to a CKLV 1st place finish.
Halls All star match does not affect his record.
As a matter of fact how is Hall not ranked above everyone? He’s undefeated and the highest returning placewinner from last year.
Looking at every other set of rankings they all have Fittery 1. Did I miss something? I think he’s great, just don’t understand if there’s a result I’m missing.
I have no Idea what you are talking about we have him ranked 1st also. Or is there a reason you do not think he should be #1? I am a bit confused.
Because that is how we see it.
Who are you talking to V? I asked about hall and why he’s not ranked higher. He’s not ranked first. I was saying that I looked at the other rankings(D1cw and intermat) and they all had him 1st and I was asking if there was some result I didn’t know about.
Really disappointed Yates med defaulted at Vegas. I wanted to see where he stood against some bigger guns. hope he comes back still healthy
ps he did beat Peppleman before forfeiting though…
How is Nick Nelson not ranked?
