UFC 127: Zhang, Hunt, Perosh, Warburton early prelim winners
Tie Quan Zhang thrilled China, Mark Hunt turned back the clock, Curt Warburton ignored the pundits who made him a big underdog and then Anthony Perosh brought down the house in the early bouts at UFC 127 in Sydney.
The fights took place Sunday afternoon in Australia and Saturday evening in North America.
Zhang (18-1) finished Jason Reinhardt (20-2) in just 48 seconds with a nasty guillotine, Hunt knocked out Chris Tuchscherer in the second round, Warburton scored a unanimous decision win over Maciej Jewtuszko, and Perosh submitted Tom Blackledge in the opening round in the first four fights of the night at Acer Arena.
Zhang is a star in his native China who was making his UFC debut as a featherweight after going 1-1 at lightweight in the WEC. He had no trouble with the 41-year-old Reinhardt, who fell into the guillotine and could not get out of it when Zhang pulled him down and wrapped his legs around the back.
