Badgers Bag Another Trojan

Let’s be honest: when the coaching changes took place at Wisconsin earlier this year, you thought it spelled the downfall of Badger Wrestling as we know it.

Think again.

With two promising recruits last year in Matt Kelliher (133/141) and Conner Medbery (HWT), and a great class coming together this year, Wisconsin has a bright future.

The Badger Class of 2012 was already formidable with #6-Ryan Taylor (125), #3-Justin Koethe (157), #8-Isaac Jordan (174), and #1-Devin Peterson (197).

Now, they add a Fargo Champion in HM-Phil Laux (125) to one of the best recruiting classes of the year.

Laux joins teammate Koethe as Iowa City West Trojans products heading to Madison next fall.

Laux is a state champion. At one time, Laux was the #1 103lber in the country in our all-class rankings. He has a Fargo title to his credit and appeared in our Top Prospect Rankings earlier this fall. This spring, he was a double Fila Finalist, winning the title in Greco. Between Fargo and Fila’s, Laux has an impressive seven medals.
