Monarchs Add Another Top Prospect

The staff at Old Dominion keeps on keeping on.

Already with two recent Top 25 classes, Steve Martin and Mike Dixon continue stockpile talent. The latest is Virginia State Champion Joe Jessen (Millbrook), who informed TheOpenMat of his decision Saturday afternoon.

In addition to his state title, Jessen has performed well in national events.

He placed at both the Beast of the East and at NHSCA’s as a Junior, wrestling 189lbs.

Jessen is ranked 16th in our all-class rankings at 195lbs, and as an Honorable Mention in our Top Prospect Report.

He plans on competing at 197lbs in college.

The acquisition of Jessen gives ODU five recruits that appear in our Top Prospect. #8-Micah Barnes (165/174), #6-Jack Dechow (184), #8-Kevin Beazley (184/197), and HM-Lenny Richardson (149/157) have previously given verbal commitments to Martin & Company.

Thanks you for giving credit to Mike Dixon for his recruiting efforts. I am sure Steve is out there, but I see Big Mike at every major event. Dixon should be given significant props for bringing top talent to ODU. The man flat out hustles.
